The Musings of Authors

Mark R. Worden & Connie Cook Worden

Mark's Margin:

In January of last year, Connie and I met through a Facebook author group and began a friendship through messenger, emails, and eventually calls. We also started reading each other’s books. Then we chose to visit each other in our respective hometowns and meet what we affectionately call “Our People” (those who know and love us). Many of those people witnessed one or even both of our weddings in October of 2023. We said our vows of marriage before God and our friends and family once in Creston B.C and again 2 days later in Dillon, MT. We now have a love story to tell and plan to share it in a book we have already started to co-author called Mark & Me: A Love Story of Redemption and Healing. This will be a sequel to Connie’s KDP published book, Mae & Me, which was the book I read where I realized that I loved this beautiful woman. Shortly thereafter (one week), I wrote what we now humorously call the “Bomb Letter” telling her that I would “love her for as far as she would love me” and that I wanted to get a Doctorate degree in getting to know her. Well, that is all the spoilers I will give at this time to our upcoming book which we hope to publish in a few years. We want our love to mature a bit, so we might have a good epilogue to add at the end of our whirlwind romance and marriage. Yes, what we did in 2023 was a shock to us and all who know us. As some have observed, “God is a matchmaker” and often does surprising and amazing things in our lives when we follow Him and trustingly pray.

Please consider checking out our new ministry website/blog, www.heisministries.net. Here you will find links to our books and learn a bit more about us through the pages and blog posts. We hope to be posting more frequently to bring uplifting content in our blog posts. We appreciate your prayers and would ask anyone who has read one of our books and who has been blessed to consider writing a review on Amazon to encourage others to give them a read, too. Our books can only bless and minister to those who know about them and choose to actually follow through and read them. Our heart is to be a blessing and spread the Good News message of peace with God through Jesus Christ and to uplift those who are part of God’s Kingdom on earth. Our prayer is, “May your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Connie's Corner:

Since marrying Mark in October of 2023, I've made the move from Creston, B.C., Canada to Montana (at least temporarily). We're seeking God and waiting on Him for our future direction as it will have some bearing on which direction we choose as a path for my immigration status. For now, I'm settling into life in Montana where Mark is self-employed in several businesses: the main one being a property management business. We're active in a local church, and I've enjoyed making friends in the community. We're in a beautiful part of the world, so we also love getting out into nature, hiking and (for Mark) fishing. (Fishing guide is one of his jobs, but he still hasn't managed to get me to quite land a fish yet. No reflection on his skill as a guide. I warned him when we first went fishing that I was a jinx. We'll work on overcoming that stigma someday.) We're also busy with different writing projects and a home remodel. God has been so good to us!
